介绍:Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) is a 158-bed hospital nestled in the foothills of La Cañada Flintridge and the Crescenta Valley. VHH serves the greater foothills communities of more than 376,000. And, in 2009, we provided care to nearly 69,000 patients.

Verdugo Hills Hospital began as Behrens Memorial Hospital, which was established in 1947. Instead of attempting to expand the Behrens facility, a new hospital was built on the hilltop land donated by the Greene family.

Since its doors opened in 1972, Verdugo Hills Hospital has grown with the community. Some of the milestones include:

1985 - Outpatient diagnostic and surgery services were added

1988 - Critical care units remodeled

1991 - 18-bed transitional care unit opened

1999 - Wound Care program began

2003 - Emergency Department expanded

2004 - A Balanced Life program introduced

2005 - Gastroenterology Department updated

2005 - ACCESS digital imaging and records system introduced

2008 - Digital Mammography introduced

2010 - Telemedicine introduced

Over the years, Verdugo Hills Hospital has remained the area’s only independent, freestanding hospital, giving it the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of local residents. The majority of its physicians, board of directors, and employees reside right here in the greater foothills communities giving them a personal interest in the hospital’s success. Verdugo Hills Hospital is a medical center that is truly operated by the community for the community.
