From the first store opening in 1982, 99¢ Only Stores has expanded to 281 stores with about 75% in California and the rest in Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Stores open at least a year generated average net sales per estimated sellable square foot of $289 and average net sales per store of $4.8 million, which the Company believes are the highest in the dollar store industry.
